ARE GHOSTS HAUNTING MICHIGAN’S TOP TOURIST DESTINATION?
Mackinac Island, known for fudge and history, is fast becoming famous for its numerous ghostly tales.

MACKINAC ISLAND, MICHIGAN, July 10, 2009 – Most people visit Mackinac Island for the famous fudge,
unique rock formations, and the pure serenity of this jewel in the Great Lakes. Now there is an exciting
new, and quite paranormal, reason to pay Mackinac Island a visit this summer; haunted historic tours.

With a history dating back thousands of years it only seems natural that there would be a ghost story or two
found here. Haunts of Mackinac (Haunted History Tours) claims to have much more than just a couple of
ghost stories to tell. In fact, the Downtown tour shares around twenty ghost stories and legends over the
course of the 90 minute walking tour. Cloaked tour guides escort “spirited guests” through the streets of
Mackinac Island and frequently stop to tell an eerie tale of the island’s many specters and legends, as well as
the history behind each location.

Haunts of Mackinac is open from through late October. Tickets are $15 for those 13 & up, $13 for those 8 –
12, and free to those 7 and under. Group discounts and private tours are available. Reservations are
recommended as group size is limited. For more information and tour times visit www.hauntsofmackinac.
com or call 1-888-GHOST-13 (888-446-7813). The ticket office is located at the corner of Main St. and Hoban,
across from Shepler’s Ferry dock on Mackinac Island.

Haunts of Mackinac now offers two other tours on Mackinac Island: “Haunts at Mission Point” and “The
Hunt.” For more information on these tours visit their website or stop by the ticket office.
